For the fourth year in a row, Dollar Loan Center CEO Chuck Brennan presented Opportunity Village a $15,000 check in conjunction with its annual summer promotion, ‘Heat Is On.’ Brennan presented the check on Saturday, September 21 during The BBQ at the Bitter Boot Ranch which was a benefit for Opportunity Village.
For the past four summers, Dollar Loan Center has pledged to donate $100 to the charity for everyday that reaches at least 100 degrees. This summer, Las Vegas had 76 days with temperatures of 100 degrees or more. To continue the tradition, Brennan rounded up the donation to a generous $15,000.
The annual BBQ benefit event featured signature food and cocktails, country music, a mechanical bull, pony rides, horseshoe tournament, a horse show and a live auction. Lucky auction winners went home with items such as exclusive rodeo tickets, one of a kind artwork and even a puppy from the Animal Foundation.
Opportunity Village is Nevada’s largest private, not-for-profit community rehabilitation program that serves people with intellectual and related disabilities. They not only offer day services and vocational training, but they also operate three employment training centers along with a Thrift Store. The programs and services they offer serve over 3,000 people annually.
“Opportunity Village provides opportunities and resources for so many families in our community that would otherwise, not be possible. It is only right that we go above and beyond to support Opportunity Village and their program year after year,” Brennan said.
