LAS VEGAS, NV (September 16, 2014) –Dollar Loan Center CEO Chuck Brennan presented a $40,000 check to Opportunity Village making it his largest donation to the organization in history in conjunction with the annual summer promotion, ‘The Heat Is On.’ Brennan presented the check at the Bitter Root Ranch during their annual BBQ benefit event for Opportunity Village on Saturday, September 13.
Dollar Loan Center has been the sponsor of ‘The Heat is On’ for the past five summers. Partnering with FOX 5 KVVU-TV, Dollar Loan Center has pledged to donate $100 to Opportunity Village for everyday that reaches at least 100 degrees. Last summer, Las Vegas had 76 days with temperatures of 100 degrees or more but Brennan rounded up the donation to a generous $15,000. This summer, Las Vegas had 77 days with temperatures of 100 degrees or more, but Brennan made the largest donation in the past five years by presenting them $40,000.
“Opportunity Village improves the lives of thousands in our community annually through the many different programs that they offer. As an almost entirely self-funded organization, I am honored to help them to be able to continue their mission that positively affects the lives of so many people and families in the community in which we live,” Brennan said.
Opportunity Village, founded in 1954, has become Nevada’s largest private, not-for-profit community rehabilitation program. The organization serves people with intellectual and related disabilities by offering day services, vocational training, community employment, advocacy, arts and social recreation. Opportunity Village also offers three employment training center campuses and a thrift store. The organization runs a vehicle donation program along with training and placing adults in jobs throughout Southern Nevada.
